Afghanistan: Suicide bombers kill 22 in Kandahar
Two suicide bombers have killed at least 22 people at a bazaar near Kandahar, the largest city in Afghanistan’s south. According to provincial police chief Abdul Raziq, drivers working to supply NATO forces were at the area where the attack took place. Javid Faisal, a spokesman for Kandahar province, says at least 22 others were wounded in Wednesday’s blast, which occurred in a market area several kilometres from Kandahar Air Field.
The massive military installation is used by the US-led coalition. One attacker drove a motorcycle packed with explosives into the area, General Raziq told, while another attacker exploded bombs after approaching on foot.
