All colors suit all complexion, believes designer Rina Dhaka…On I Love Style powered by KARMIK on BIG CBS LOVE
KARMIK designer Rina Dhaka, who designs for women who see themselves as modern and confident, will be sharing some of her top fashion tips in this week on I Love Style powered by Karmik, on BIG CBS LOVE, the diva destination. The show revolves around everything ‘in style’ providing a great platform to the designer and her label. She will be featured in a special segment KARMIK Stylicious this week, where she will be speaking not only about her association with revolutionary brand KARMIK but also her exquisite style-tips on a variety of trendy topics like Cottons for Summers, Playing with Pastels, Funky Fashion, Metallic Mania and Gracious Gota.
Rina Dhaka, who prides herself as the daughter of a cotton farmer, believes fashion for women is about giving options. “It is about severity and seduction," says Dhaka and continues, "My strength lies in designing knits and cuts that enhance the funkiness of the garment. I love contemporizing ethnic wear to give it a western outlook. Recently I have designed an exquisite Indian-wear range full of rich colors and Gota for the brand KARMIK, which is committed to make designer-wear style accessible to all the women."
Accolades came her way in the early years of her career when one of her designs was appreciated at a beauty pageant. Fifteen years in the world of style & fashion, this well known designer shares her style quotient with the viewers. On coaxing her about her personal style statement, she said – “I only and only wear what is comfortable, for me fashion is comfortable clothing that enhances your beauty. The style that comes from with-in is what will make your noticeable, not something which you are wearing aping the so called Fashion Trends.”
Here are some tips that Rina shared on the show.
- Do not bind 'Fashion' in trends, as one trend cannot govern your personal style. But if you could include that in a minuscule way in your own personal style, it will just add to the whole look.
- Any drab garment can be made interesting by simple accessories. A scarf can give a dress a whole new meaning!
- I take pride in making clothes which can be worn from afternoon lunch to an evening party with equal élan by just making minor changes to the make-up or accessories.
- Let's not even get in-to the rut of color & complexion. There is nothing like that. All colors suit all complexions, depending on how you play with it. Darker complexion should not wear dark colors.
