MK slams Kerala's proposal for new dam, wants Centre to step in
DMK President M Karunanidhi today slammed the Kerala government for continuously adopting a mischievous stand towards Tamil Nadu on river water issues and said this should not be allowed to continue any longer.
Talking to reporters here, Mr Karunanidhi criticised the Kerala government for its proposed move to construct a new dam across Siruvani river at Attapadi. "The Kerala government has been continuously adopting a worst and mischievous attitude towards Tamil Nadu on river water issues," he said.
"How long this should be allowed to continue," he asked, and urged the Centre to intervene and find an amicable solution to it. The DMK Chief also condemned the Sri Lankan Navy for detaining and arresting nine fishermen hailing from Akkarapettai village in Nagapattinam district.
