Fifteen-year-old equestrian Shubh Chowdhari from Chennai delivered an outstanding performance at the Junior National Equestrian Championships – held in Delhi from 26th December to 4th January 2026, marking a powerful and confident entry into the Young Rider (15–21 years) category—one of the most competitive divisions in Indian equestrian sport.

After a dominant previous season with three gold medals in the Under-14 category, Shubh stepped up to face older, more experienced riders and heavier technical demands. Competing across Dressage and Show Jumping, he demonstrated exceptional consistency and maturity well beyond his age.

In the Young Rider Dressage (Individual) category, Shubh secured Silver, scoring 71.636 points riding Balu (Horse Name) for Chennai Equestrian Centre (CEC). He went on to play a crucial role in the Dressage Team Gold, contributing the same strong score. Adding to this success was an impressive performance at the FEI show jumping Championships, reinforcing his readiness for international-standard competition.and also meeting the Minimum Elegibility Requirement for YOUTH OLYMPICS GAMES (YOG) for India.

As per championship norms, medals were officially awarded in New Delhi on 4th January 2026, after results from both South and North Zones were consolidated.

Behind this success stands a strong support system—proof that achievement in sport is never an individual effort alone. Shubh trains under Coach Isabelle (Chennai Equestrian Centre), with guidance and mentorship from Coach Imtiaz Anees (Sea Horse Equestrian), Coach Harve (Switzerland), and Coach Commander Amit Maini (Flying Sea Stallion).

Reflecting on his journey, Shubh shared:

“Moving into a higher category was challenging, but I’ve learned to trust my training, my horse, and my team. I’m grateful to everyone who believes in me and pushes me to do better every day.”

With discipline, humility, and unwavering support behind him, Shubh Chowdhari continues to emerge as one of India’s most promising young equestrians.
