Welham Girls’ School Hosts Mumbai Alumni Meet, First Enrolee Pramila Nazir Contributes to Build Sports Complex

Welham Girls’ School, a 69-year-old legacy boarding school, recently hosted a Mumbai chapter alumnae meet and greet that brought together former students from the earliest batch to the most recent cohorts for an evening of reconnecting and shared memories.

A special highlight of the gathering was the presence of Ms Premila Nazir, Roll No. 1 and the first student to enrol at Welham Girls’ School in 1957 in a batch of 10 girls. Marking the occasion, Ms Nazir made the first contribution towards the construction of the School’s Sports Complex, which was presented to the current Principal, Ms Vibha Kapoor, during the event. The facility is aimed at strengthening sports training and expanding access to world-class infrastructure for students.

The contribution was made in memory of her friends from school, Arati Walia and Anita Vij, who are no longer with us. The gesture reflects the deep and lasting friendships formed at Welham Girls’ School.
