Ukraine Launches Massive Drone Attack on Russia
Ukraine launched more than 280 drones at Russia overnight, marking one of the largest drone attacks since the war began. The information was shared by Russia’s state news agency, which quoted the Defence Ministry.
Russian officials said that their air defence systems were able to intercept and destroy many of the incoming drones before they reached their targets. In the southern Rostov region, about 90 drones were shot down. The region’s governor, Yuri Slyusar, confirmed the details through a message on Telegram.
While officials have not yet released complete information about the damage or possible casualties, such large-scale attacks can cause serious disruption. They can damage buildings, infrastructure, and create fear among people living in the affected areas. Authorities are still assessing the situation and gathering more details.
This attack highlights the growing role of drones in the conflict. Both Ukraine and Russia have increasingly relied on unmanned aerial vehicles not only for surveillance but also for carrying out strikes. Drones are seen as a cost-effective and flexible tool in modern warfare, allowing attacks over long distances without direct risk to soldiers.
The incident also shows how the conflict continues to intensify, with both sides using new strategies and advanced technology. Frequent drone attacks have become a key feature of the war, and they are expected to play an even bigger role in future operations.
Analysts say such developments could further escalate tensions and prolong the conflict. As both countries continue to strengthen their military capabilities, the situation remains uncertain, with no immediate signs of de-escalation
