Viral ‘Women Chor Hain’ Post Revealed as Women’s Day Campaign by Better Nutrition with Chef Pankaj Bhadouria
Celebrity chef and television personality Pankaj Bhadouria recently set social media abuzz after posting a cryptic message on Instagram that read “Women Chor Hain.” Shared without any explanation or context, the post quickly caught the attention of followers and triggered widespread reactions online, with many users expressing surprise and curiosity about its meaning.
Within hours, screenshots of the message began circulating across social media platforms and messaging groups. Comment sections were filled with questions as users tried to understand the intent behind the statement. While some wondered if the post had been misunderstood, others speculated whether it was part of a larger message that would be revealed later.
The mystery was finally addressed on March 8, when she shared a video explaining the thought behind the phrase. The message, she clarified, was part of a campaign by the brand Better Nutrition aimed at drawing attention to a common yet often overlooked issue: how women frequently compromise on their own nutrition while caring for their families. The video said, “Haan Women Chor Hain, Women khane main chori karte hain”.
In the video, the chef explained that in many households, women often adjust their own meals when food runs short, opting to eat less or replacing nutritious food with simpler alternatives. Over time, such habits can contribute to nutritional deficiencies. She also highlighted that nearly 57 percent of women in India are affected by anemia, underscoring the need to pay closer attention to everyday nutrition.
The campaign encourages women to stop “stealing” from their own nutrition and instead prioritise healthier choices. As part of the message, she highlighted the role of bio-fortified staple foods such as the best atta, pulses, and rice, from Better Nutrition, which contain higher levels of essential micronutrients like iron and zinc and can help improve daily nutrition through regular meals.
Following the clarification, many users responded positively online, with several commenting that the explanation brought relief and appreciation for the larger message behind the phrase.
Sharing her perspective, celebrity chef, Pankaj Bhadouria said, “The phrase ‘Women Chor Hain’ was meant to highlight something many of us do unknowingly, we compromise on our own nutrition while taking care of everyone else. Through this campaign, I wanted to remind women that their health matters too, and that making small changes in daily food choices can make a big difference.”
Speaking about the initiative, Prateek Rastogi, Co-Founder of Better Nutrition, said, “This campaign was designed to spark conversation around women’s nutrition and the everyday compromises that often go unnoticed. Through bio-fortified staples, our aim is to help families access better nutrition through the foods they already consume daily, making healthier choices simpler and more accessible.”
