Grand Finale of International Chess Excellence: Chairman Trophy 2026 Concludes at SRM IST
The valedictory function of the Chairman Trophy – 4th SRM International Open FIDE Rating Rapid Chess Tournament 2026 will be held at 6.00 p.m. on Sunday, 12 July 2026, at the Padma Bhushan Major Dhyan Chand Indoor Stadium, SRM Institute of Science and Technology (SRM IST), Kattankulathur.
The tournament, organized by Golden Knights Chess Academy and Master Mind Chess Academy in association with the Directorate of Sports, SRM IST, witnessed enthusiastic participation from over 500 players representing India, South Korea, Scotland, France, and the United States of America.
Dr. R. Mohanakrishnan, Director - Sports, SRM IST, will grace the valedictory function as the Chief Guest and distribute prizes to the winners. The event will celebrate outstanding performances and recognize the achievements of participants who showcased exceptional talent, strategic thinking, and sportsmanship throughout the championship.
The successful conduct of the tournament reflects SRM IST’s continued commitment to promoting chess and nurturing sporting excellence at the international level.
