O. Panneerselvam denies rumours of joining TVK
Former Tamil Nadu Chief Minister and DMK legislator O. Panneerselvam has rejected speculation that he intends to leave the DMK and join the ruling TVK.
Responding to reports circulating on social media, Panneerselvam described them as baseless rumours spread by political mischief-makers. He said such speculation had become increasingly common in Tamil Nadu politics and undermined public confidence.
Reaffirming his commitment to the DMK, he referred to the party as the parent movement of Dravidian politics and said there was no truth to claims about a change in political allegiance.
Panneerselvam urged people not to circulate unfounded rumours. While declining to elaborate, he remarked that the state’s political landscape could witness significant developments in the future.
A three-time Chief Minister, Panneerselvam was expelled from the AIADMK in 2022 and formally joined the DMK on February 27, 2026, in the presence of then Chief Minister M.K. Stalin.
