Over 50 + Faculty Members Across Bengaluru Upskilled in AI Through 'Udaan', a Future Skills Initiative Powered by Sunstone at Ratinam institutions Bangalore

Udaan, a large-scale Artificial Intelligence education initiative powered by Sunstone, successfully conducted a Faculty Development Programme (FDP) at Rathinam Institute of Technology, Bangalore, equipping over 50+ academic leaders and faculty members with practical, hands-on training in Generative AI and its classroom applications.

The initiative was designed to help educators move beyond traditional teaching methods and embrace AI as a practical tool for enhancing classroom engagement, streamlining assessments, and strengthening academic leadership. By bringing faculty members into a collaborative, tech-enabled learning environment, the programme aimed to build confidence and readiness for an AI-driven future in education.

The training session was led by Mr. Rammohan Thirupasur, a Generative AI Strategist and former Associate Director at IBM/Kyndryl with over 28 years of global IT experience. Recognized as one of India's top Gen AI leaders by DISAi magazine, Mr. Thirupasur has trained over 600 professionals across leading enterprises including KPMG, Wipro, EY, ABB, and Siemens.

During the session, faculty members received intensive hands-on training in Prompt Engineering and Generative AI, gaining real-time exposure to industry-leading tools such as ChatGPT, Google Gemini, and Notebook LM. Educators learned how to integrate these tools into lesson planning, create dynamic assessments, and personalize learning experiences for students.

Mr. Guru Prasath, Executive Director at Sunstone, commented on the institution's commitment to innovation, stating, "At Rathinam, we view education as a dynamic ecosystem where both students and educators must evolve simultaneously. Initiatives like Udaan are pivotal in this journey, as they empower our faculty to become lifelong learners themselves. By integrating AI into their pedagogical toolkit, we are not just future-proofing our students' careers, but also fostering a culture of innovation and excellence among our staff. This program is a significant step in our mission to create a truly world-class learning environment."

Adding to this, Mr. Devashish Pande, Regional Director at Sunstone, said, "At Sunstone, we believe that the future of education begins with empowered educators. Through Udaan, we are ensuring that teachers are not just aware of AI, but are confident in using it every day—whether it's saving time on administrative tasks or creating more engaging, personalized learning experiences for students."

Dr. Priyanka B. Dongre, Principal of Rathinam Institute of Technology, further emphasized the impact of the training, stating, "Rathinam has always been committed to staying at the forefront of educational innovation. Hosting this Faculty Development Programme under the Udaan initiative reflects our dedication to future-ready learning. When we invest in training our teachers, we are directly investing in the quality of education our students receive. It was inspiring to see such enthusiastic participation from our faculty, eager to embrace these powerful tools."

The programme witnessed strong engagement throughout the day. Faculty members participated in interactive workshops, practiced crafting effective prompts, and explored how AI tools can be used for research, productivity, and real-time problem-solving in academic settings. Each participant walked away with a toolkit of immediately applicable practices and a deeper understanding of how Generative AI can transform everyday teaching.

As part of Udaan's broader mission, this Faculty Development Programme ensures that educators remain equipped to guide students in a technology enabled learning environment. By strengthening educator capability alongside student learning, Udaan aims to create long-term impact and support the development of a future-ready education ecosystem.
