Sarakku Norukku—a spirited new food and beverage fest at The Balcony, A Box Office Bar, Courtyard by Marriott Madurai, where nostalgia, local flavors and playful cocktails come together with a distinctly Madurai personality.
At the heart of the fest is Pullikesi, the larger-than-life mascot who brings the irreverent spirit of the city to the experience. With his signature veshti, cheerful swagger and a mug in hand, Pullikesi is the unofficial host of this celebration of “sarakku” and “norukku”—good drinks, crunchy bites and plenty of local character.
The bar takes a playful spin on familiar flavors with an eclectic line-up of cocktails and drinks including Kalakkal Punch, Nannari Jil Jil, Madurai Smash, Souru Sarakku, Kara Brandy and Sema Coolu.
The accompanying local bites turn up the crunch and spice with favorites such as Murukku Chaat, Vengaya Thool Pakoda, Verkadalai Manga Masala, Kaadai 65, Eeral Roast and Mutta Mass—bringing the flavors of Madurai’s streets and snack culture to the bar.
